Resume

Peggy Manoli holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature (2003), a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics (2006) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD in Applied Linguistics (2013) from the department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Thessaly. She has taught linguistic courses at the department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Thessaly (2019-2021) and at the Hellenic Open University (MA program “Language Education for Refugees and Migrants” & MA program “Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language”) (2016 until today); at the same time, she has taught English for Specific Purposes at the University of Thessaly and University of Western Macedonia (2014-2019). In July 2021, she elected assistant professor at the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education, University of Patras (Appointment FEK: Issue C 1547/09-07-2021). She has participated in the following research programmes: “Education of Roma children”, “Teacher Support Confronting Social Inequalities”, “Designing, developing, and assessing a digital platform aiming to enhance nursery school teachers’ literacy practices”, “Teacher trainings in the regions of Peloponnese, Eastern Macedonia, Thessaly, Epirus and Crete”, “Teach for Integration Capacity Building Programme and ALP Pilot Implementation” [held by UNICEF (Refugee and Migrant Response in Greece)] at the University of Thessaly and “Exploring reading literacy and self-beliefs in secondary schools in Greece with a focus on immigrant students” at the Hellenic Open University. Since July 2021 she has a member of the Laboratory of “Language and Literature” at the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education, University of Patras. Research interests

Her research interests focus on: language teaching in multilingual educational settings, sociolinguistic approach to the multilingual education, language education for refugees and socially vulnerable population, language teaching in early childhood education, Multiliteracies, use and analysis of multimodal texts in language teaching, designing educational material for language teaching in multilingual education, teachers’ training in language teaching.
