Curriculum : Description: Students are expected to be familiarized with specific school practices and to enhance their understanding in the education policy-making. A critical approach is attempted to specific issues of educational policy. This course is also linked to the teaching practice of the fourth year students at state nursery schools. Students are reinforced to develop research interests in the field.

Outline : This course includes: -A brief theoretical approach to educational policy -An examination of specific school practices -The politics of the school curriculum (primary and secondary) -The politics of the educational changes -Globalization and education -Teachers’ professionalism and professional development. Teaching and learning methods: Lectures with the use of power point. Students’ group work. Compulsory essay based on the students' involvement in the Practicum. Language of instruction: The language of instruction is Greek (in English, when it is demanded). Assessment: The course is assessed by final written exams. Students’ compulsory written essays are submitted before the end of the course.
