Curriculum : The course offers a systematic introduction to the methodology, history and theory of psychology as well as on the psychology divisions and applied fields. The biological bases of behaviour and cognition are examined, as well as their ontogenetic development. Additionally, the course focuses on the function of the brain mechanisms: perception, memory, language, thought and problem solving, intelligence and learning processes.
By the end of the course the students will be able to:

• Present understanding of the different goals of each branch of psychology
• Have basic theoretical knowledge about the most important functions of the human brain: attention, memory, language, learning, and thinking
• Apply the appropriate principles of different theoretical approaches to explain psychological phenomena
